Tyler LeBlanc

Chef de Cuisine

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and raised in Merrimack, New Hampshire, Tyler LeBlanc's culinary odyssey commenced unexpectedly at age 13, when his stepfather introduced him to the restaurant kitchen—a measure initially perceived as discipline. Quickly transforming into ardor, Tyler found himself fully immersed in the culinary world when his stepfather acquired the establishment. Following five years in his hometown and a brief business education stint, Tyler ventured to Boston at 19 to delve into the realm of fine dining. Under the tutelage of luminaries such as Barbara Lynch and Scott Jones, Tyler honed his craft, progressing from commis to sous chef. Subsequently refining his skills at Michelin-starred establishments in Chicago, Tyler now showcases a diverse and nuanced culinary approach at Jônt in Washington, D.C. Eschewing strict categorization, Tyler's cuisine is a fusion of French, Italian, modernist, and Chinese influences, characterized by intentionality and innovation. Passionate about creating dishes with unexpected elements, Tyler excels in crafting dumplings, pastas, and bao. Beyond the kitchen, Tyler unwinds with literature, cycling, or reminiscing about his three-year pizza-eating venture in Boston—demonstrating an enduring love for pizza and McNuggets alike.
